Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. Children who were not baptized as infants are also initiated through an adapted process of this rite, sometimes mistakenly referred to as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC).

RCIA is primarily a journey of faith. It is a restoration of the ancient practice of initiation in the church.  It is focused on conversion, whereby the candidates enter into an extended period of formation and conversion through prayer and reflection on the Gospels.

It is also a communal journey in which the church community ritually celebrates conversion at various points during the journey. The RCIA is not a program but a sacramental process in which candidates are fully initiated into the Catholic faith.

RCIA Meetings in our Parish.

All Catholic adults who have not yet made their First Communion or received the Sacrament of Confirmation and other adults who wish to know more about our Catholic Faith are cordially invited to attend the RCIA meetings every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the new cathedral.

Also, for those of you who may have known someone that left the catholic church to a different denomination, please click here and recommend our letter to them. You can either print it out or E-mail it to them by clicking on the E-mail icon.

  3. Parking of Vehicles outside the eastern wall

Parishioners are reminded that it is an offense to park your vehicles outside the eastern wall of the Church's property.  When parked in this area, your vehicles cause the obstruction of traffic which can lead to a serious accident occurring at this junction.  Vehicles found parked in this no-parking area will be towed at the owners expense.
