Basil Davis - 2003-2005

.:: History of the Men's Association ::.

It was some 15 years ago that Basil Davis dreamt of the idea of a Men's Ministry for St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish. It was mentioned to a few men of the Parish, who thought it was an excelent idea, but little progres was made and the idea was scrapped. Years later Basil Davis continued his quest to start a Men's Ministry.

His inspiration was strenghtned with the support, spiritual direction and mentoring of Monsignor Simeon Roberts, Rector of the Parish, and with determination and zeal together with a few able men at his side in 2003, they togethr formed the Men's Ministryand called it St. Francis Xavier Catholic Men's Association.

Election of officers to serve on the first Executive Committee wsa conducted on the May 19th, 2003 under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Kendrick Forbes, the then Associate Rector. The Association grew in numbers, attracting men of every persuasion, from fifteen (15) to a present membership of forty-five (45).

    Parishioners are reminded that it is an offense to park your vehicles outside the eastern wall of the Church's property.  When parked in this area, your vehicles cause the obstruction of traffic which can lead to a serious accident occurring at this junction.  Vehicles found parked in this no-parking area will be towed at the owners expense.
